Rough Waffle Cloth   ラフワッフルクロス

The standard dishcloths which has been used more than 70 years with same specs. The fabric has been exported to Europe and America.
The clothes were used as dishwashing sponge until urethane sponges were invented. The hardness of the fabric originated to being used as dishwashing sponges.
Grid-pattern like roughness easily makes dirt away.
As knit unlike woven fabric, it is easier to use with piled up. More water absorbent than fabric. Can be wiped more dishes compared to knit. Loose texture makes quick dry. It can be used as table clothes.

戦後からずっと同じ規格で長く愛され続けているふきん。
戦後、欧米に百貨店へ輸出用として作られた粗生地。
ウレタンスポンジのなかった時代に食器洗いのスポンジ代わりにこの粗生地で食器を洗っていたことが生地の目の硬さの由来です。
格子状の凸凹が汚れを引っ掛けてきれいにします。
ニット製品のため、織物とは異なり何枚かにたたんで手の中に収めた時の弾力が非常に使いやすいです。織物と比較すると吸水量が多く、
たくさんの食器をふくことができ、また生地目が粗いので乾きが早いです。
食器だけでなく、テーブルを拭いたりするのにも適しています。
